At the Blue Chip Fall Ball AAU college showcase tournament held the first weekend in October, I wrote a nice thing or two about the New Jersey Crusaders, a team that really impressed me with their on-court expertise. Subsequent to the article being posted, I was in touch with the coach of the team, who was appreciative of the kind words about her squad and who helped me with a player ID in one of the photos. Out of that correspondence, I came to learn more about one of their stellar forwards, Casey Cresbaugh. And yes, while this isn't NewJerseyGirlsBasketball.com, and while the site does not exist to promote out-of-state student-athletes, I nevertheless felt, in the spirit of good sportsmanship and inclusiveness, that if we gave this player a little "ink" on this site no harm would be done. ...And besides, if you saw her play, you'd agree she deserves it!
Here's a few stats:
Currently a junior at Sparta High School.
Averaged 14 points/12 rebounds/6 assists/3 steals per game during the AAU season.
Averaged 12 pts/11 rebs/4 assists/2 steals during the Fall Ball showcase.
Casey also plays soccer and softball, where she has earned such honors as team MVP last year in soccer and Coaches' Award in basketball. She has earned varsity letters for the past two years in all three sports as a starting player on her teams. Additionally, she has earned all-conference and all-area recognition.
Academically she carries a 4.5 GPA and ranks 4 in a class of 345.
Her desire is to play basketball in college.
Several schools have contacted her so far from all three levels - D1, D2, D3
