St. Anthony's Karly Panella is one of those players that always brings fun to her on-court time.

Courtney Wallace has a great shooting touch, is a legitimate 3-point threat, and plays every aspect of the game with everything she's got.
A couple of years ago, she won an iPOW Award in AAU ball. To this day, she still might hold the record for youngest iPOW winner ever.
Tourney MVP - three years in a row - Holy Angels' Sabrina Hackendorn.
In this game against St. E's, Sabrina would chalk up 13 points.
Point guard, Renada L'Italien with a nice pass. She would finish this game with 7 points.
7th grader, Caroline Davis
UA's Kate Payne struggles with three SJB defenders. Payne played as well as we've ever seen her, nailing 10 points for her team's cause.
Here's Payne again, going airborne over top of SJB's Claire Igo. Igo would tie with Cassidy Flanigan as leading scorer in this game with 13.
UA's Miranda Schiccatano was the JV Tournament MVP last year. As a 7th grader this year, she turned in good minutes again, and was absolutely inspirational in the semi-final loss to Holy Angels. Though the varsity Raiders were left without a representative in the All-Tournament Team, Schiccatano was clearly deserving.
UA's Erin Joyce with the ball. This Ursuline team has a glut of very talented point guards. Joyce is certainly one of them! With limited minutes, Erin had 7 points.
Courtney Wallace... Again.
UA's tall forward, Aonyae Easterling.
Holy Angels forward, Maddy Waegele

Emma Matthews helps out wherever she is needed.
Micah Morgan's got a bucket load of skills. With the Holy Angels roster being what it is, players like Micah tend to not get the minutes they might on other teams. A well-known, high-visibility high school coach said to me earlier this year that, "Holy Angels' best games are probably at practice when they scrimmage themselves."

Caroline Davis (6 points in this game)
Erin Anderson from Holy Angels #2.
Holy Angels #2's Mackenzie Edler passes to Shauntel Williams.
Final Four Night
Holy Angels 28, Ursuline 23
St. Mary's 37, St. John's 27
Kate Payne (4 points) passes the ball.
Miranda Schiccatano at the free-throw line. Schiccatano would go down with a neck injury, but would return late in the game. She'd finish with 8 points on the night to lead her team.
Hackendorn (11 points) shoots over top of Schiccatano and Gabby Costagliola.
Another unsung hero on the deep, deep, deep Holy Angels roster, Brittany Conner (2 points).
Claudia Seemans (4 points) with a layup for 2 points.
Cassidy Flanigan (7 points) about to try a free-throw. St. Mary's terrific point guard, Laura Hurff (7 points), looks on.
Claire Igo (3 points) running one in as Hurff challenges.

Allie Munro shoots the rock.

Bridgette McLaughlin has better than average height for a point guard. She would be named to the All-Tournament Team.

Morgan Edler is a 5th grader with a TON of energy! The fact that she's still learning the basics doesn't stop her from giving 100% effort.
Lindsay Wolfe lets it fly.

Taylor Garbowski reminds us, visually, of a younger Sabrina Hackendorn. If she winds up playing like her, her basketball career will go far.
A year ago, we "discovered" Maddie Hughes, then playing for UA's JV team. This year, we're all abuzz over Erin Turulski. She has a great style of play. Smart, aggressive and all business.
All-Tournament Team selection, Julia Furey-Bastian. Love the way she plays. Smooth and professional.

Yet another All-Tournament selection, St. John's Gabrielle Julian. Here we see Gabby on offense (left) and defense (right).

5th grader Annie Brush is something else. Born to play point guard, Annie has a great outside shot and a good understanding of the game. But maybe above all else is her uncanny ability to steal away dribbles from opponents. As Tom and I were fond to say about Annie's knack for picking pockets, "You may think you have the ball, but you don't. Annie's got it."
Beware of girls with three names! This is Christ the Teacher's Helen Mae Lynch, who looks like she has a solid future in hoops.
Here's St. Catherine's Kailyn Kampert being guarded by St. Anthony's Nicole Byrne. Kampert is one of the dominant players in the St. E's League and was All-Tournament at the Shootout. Her mom is Sue (Manelski) Kampert, former 2 time State Player of the Year (Padua) and varsity high school head coach (Ursuline).
And speaking of Sue Kampert, here she is dispensing advice to SCS guard, Sarah Metz.
