2009/2010 Season

One of the players making her first trip to Nationals this August will be Olivia Craig of the 10U Tigers.  If the last name sounds familiar, it should.  Olivia is a cousin of former St. E's standout, Amanda Craig.  This video shows Olivia running in a layup against the Jersey Shore Shots on Sunday, May 23rd in Holmdel, NJ.

To chants of "MVP! MVP! MVP!", Sanford junior, Naiesha Brown (22 pts, 15 reb, 3 steals - game leader in all 3 categories) climbs the "ladder of success" to get her little souvenir on the night. This from the State Title game, girls basketball, State of Delaware. Game played March 12, 2010. Sanford 51, Smyrna 36.

The Sanford Lady Warriors defeat the Smyrna High School Lady Eagles, 51 - 36 to bring home the school's first State Title since 1994. Game played March 12, 2010.

Closing seconds in the State Quarter-finals as the Cape Henlopen Vikings (#9 seed) upset the heretofore undefeated St. Mark's Spartans (#1 seed), 43 - 41, to advance to the Delaware High School Final Four. This game played March 6, 2010.

Closing seconds of the Diocese of Wilmington (DE) CYM C Division Championship Game. Holy Angels defeats St. Mary of the Assumption, 38 - 28. Game played February 28, 2010 at Padua Academy. Holy Angels went undefeated the entire season: Regular season, all tournaments, and the CYM Playoffs.

The JV wing of the tournament features teams composed of 5th and 6th graders. Wendel and Julian - both 6th graders - are standout players from their respective teams. St. John's would go on to win the championship by a score of 37 - 30.
