Additional:
"Tiara was a tough and physical player that improved remarkably
every season at Caravel. When I was a senior, Caravel's
varsity consisted of Tiara (who was a sophomore) and nine
freshman. She was reliable as a teammate and a friend. Through
hard work, she made herself into a strong Division I recruit."

Two-Year Teammate of Tiara's
Perhaps Tiara Malcom was a late bloomer. Her name doesn't
appear anywhere in the high school all-state selections for her
freshman and sophomore seasons. But boy, did she make up
for lost time! As a junior and senior, she vaulted
securely onto the First Team All-State squad, and took away
Player of the Year honors as a senior. By that time, she
was nationally known around college recruiting circles. A
lot accomplished in a short time! As good as things were
for Tiara in 2001, her hoops career would go into overdrive at
the University of Delaware. She would finish out her years
as a Blue Hen ranked 5th on the all-time scoring list and in the
top ten in rebounds and blocks. While with the team, the
Hens would post a record of 89 - 32.
After her NCAA playing career was over, she played some
professional ball in Europe, has worked with youngsters at
basketball camps and with New Castle County Head Start, Inc.
She has also served as a counselor at the Clarence Fraim Boys &
Girls Club in Wilmington. She joined the University of
Delaware Lady Blue Hens coaching staff for the 2006-07 season
and continues in that capacity today.
