Additional:
Around DGB.com headquarters, we
affectionately refer to Naiesha Brown as “Miss March.” Just as
Reggie Jackson was known as Mr. October for his perennial clutch
performances during the baseball playoffs, Brown established a
history of raising her game to stellar heights deep into the
State Tournament. Consider this: In her two Final Four games
and her two State Championship games – 4 games in all – she
scored 21 or more points in 3 of the 4 games for an average of
20.75 ppg. Think about that. In the biggest games of her
entire career, she came up huge. Even in her worst of the 4
games, her 13 points was enough to lead her team! Naiesha
wasn’t just a scorer, though. She was a very proficient
rebounder who took pride in her work on the boards. In the 2010
Semi-Final, she pulled down 17 rebounds and followed that up
with another 15 in the State Title game!
What Others Say:
“While I am proud of Naiesha’s accomplishments on the court, I
have seen a growth in her recently, which has made me ever
prouder. She understands that leading many times requires acts
of selflessness. Naiesha has surely grown not only as a player
but also as a leader and I am so proud of her."

Digging out this one from deep in
the DGB.com archives! This is "Nai" from her
2006 Wilmington Tigers 13U team
picture. Seventh grade for her, or thereabouts.
Even at such a young age, her
gifts were plain to see.

A few years later, in March 2010,
being interviewed by the News Journal after the State Title
game.
In the Semis, Brown put together
what may be her personal best single game: 27 points, 17
rebounds, and 3 steals. She was 11-for-13 from the foul
line.

Taking a shot during the Semis in
2011.

Earlier in the year scoring her
1,000th point against Tatnall.
